The Web Presenter People – Cameron Flights

March 19, 2010

The Web Presenter People produced a walk on presenter video for Cameron Flights using their newest presenter Caroline.

Cameron Flights - Hot Air Balloon Rides

Unfortunately the client wasn’t able to be present for the shoot, nor were we able to set up a webcam for directing due to some technical difficulties. Eventually we ended up using video chat on a 3G phone! Cameron Flights were happy with how things were going in the studio so (luckily for the phone bills) we carried on “unsupervised” as it were, with the peace of mind that our client was happy with the type of shot, Caroline’s appearance and her delivery.

Photography Studio Hire, Crawley- Behind the Scenes

October 12, 2009

We hire out our dedicated studio for video filming projects, photography and sound recording. One of our favourites this quarter:

Siemens Photo shoot

The studio was hired by Siemens to host a video/photo shoot for their hearing instrument range. The photo shoot took place in our 12′ x 10′ infinity curve, where a selection of models posed with the hearing instruments. Meanwhile two of our camera crew were taking ‘Behind The Scenes’ style video footage of the entire shoot.

Green Screen Photography – Myspace

October 12, 2009

The social networking giant Myspace, approached us for a rather unusual request last month. They wanted to hold a greenscreen photoshoot as part of their entertainment at London’s Underage Festival. Passers by chose the background to be superimposed behind them, then posed on our a full length greenscreen.

Greenscreen Before Greenscreen After

The subjects were then shown their finished photo and given the chance to download it online. The most popular were a New York cityscape and a graffiti wall.

Recently freelance photographer Karen Baldwin hired our studio for some product photography, although these were not regular pack shots! She was shooting for a coffin manufacturer. Luckily our 12 x 10 ft infinity curve was large enough to get some good wide shots of these enormous caskets.
Karen took full advantage of our Bowens High Glide Lighting system as she needed to light her unusual subjects directly from above without reflection.

Telecine Film Transfer Super8 – James Bond Movie Set

August 25, 2009

It has been another busy month transferring all of your old ‘reel film’ movie footage. Most of the film has been gathering dust in attics and cupboards lying in wait for a whole new generation to enjoy.

Some of the film we transfer consists of very rare and archival footage dating back as far as the early 1920′s. It is always a pleasure to transfer material that reflects the differences and style of a lost era. In some cases the film has not been viewed  for decades. Quite often such material captures events and subjects not covered by the television programmes of today. Each film offers a unique slice of lost history that needs to be remembered and archived using the latest digital mediums.

Further information about film transfer can be found at www.cineconversions.co.uk

Information about super 8 film and its use in todays modern word can be found at www.kodak.com and enter Super8 into the search.

A personal favorite of film footage I transferred this month was from a customer whose father worked behind the scenes on the movie set of the James Bond film Goldfinger (1965). The footage was on a grainy Standard 8mm reel, and although very short showed some unique behind the scenes material from Pinewood Studios.  It was very wonderful to see the cast and crew relaxing on set between takes.  The reel also contained footage of the visual effects team setting off controlled explosions on the set too. Here are some stills of Sean Connery and Harold Sakata (oddjob) taking the time to chill out on set.
